What is a site profile?
A site profile is a specification of which log entries SurfStatsLive will add to the
site profile database (used for reporting) when processing the log files specified.
You can add one or more site profile to a profile group. An end user (also called
SurfStatsLive user) logs in with a site profile name and the associated password
to view reports.
Navigating to a specific Profile Group
You can go to a specific Profile Group by selecting it at the top (from the Drop
Down box) and clicking Go.
Creating a Site Profile
Click the [New Profile],(under the Profile Group for which you want to add a site
profile) and add fill in the details for the site profile.
The Profile Name must be unique on the SurfStatsLive Reporting Service (not
only on the profile group). Specify a profile name that is easy to remember, a
password and the Include Filters to use. The Include Filters/Excude Filters will
dictate what the SurfStatsLive Merging Service will extract from the log files and
put in the site profile’s database. Please refer to the More on Filters section for
more detail on specifying filters.
SurfStatsLive users (end users) will log into the SurfStatsLive Reporting Service
with the Profile Name and Password to view site activity reports.
If the SurfStatsLive Edition is set or activated by the Service Provider as a
SurfStatsLive eCommerce edition then the profile type can be selected as:
Traffic – Traffic and eCommerce reports will be generated.
Traffic Only – Only Traffic reports will be generated.
ECommerce Only – Only eCommerce reports will be generated.
